MDC’s rack and pinion linear motion feedthroughs combine quick-action handling with enhanced control, making them a versatile option for manual linear positioning in vacuum environments. Similar to push-pull devices but offering finer motion control, these units translate a 1-1/4 turn of the actuator into 1 inch (25.4 mm) of travel.

Motion is typically observed through a viewport, with the actuator’s position tracked via laser-etched graduation marks at 0.025" (0.635 mm) increments along the feedthrough body. A black anodized finish ensures high contrast visibility, while a manual position lock at the actuator’s top end provides secure placement during operation.

Built with UHV or HV compatible materials, welded stainless steel bellows, and linear bearing shaft supports, these feedthroughs deliver smooth, reliable motion. Available with Conflat® CF flanges or ISO KF Kwik-Flange™ elastomer seal mounts, they are suitable for a wide range of vacuum applications.
