MDC Precision’s VPS Series Viewport Shutters provide quick and efficient shielding for standard vacuum viewports, ideal for high and ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) coating and process applications. These swing-type pivoting shutters feature a double-sided sealing design and mount between a port flange and viewport, utilizing the maximum aperture of a standard port tube. Each shutter’s body is precision-machined to match the contour of the flapper plate for maximum shielding efficiency.

Actuation is achieved through an MDC bellows-sealed rotary drive, allowing controlled partial or full opening with a positive click-stop mechanism. Constructed from all stainless steel, VPS shutters are bakeable to 230°C (446°F) and available in six flange sizes using MDC's CF metal-seal interfaces for leak-tight, repeatable performance.
