MDC’s 2-1/2" inline all-metal valves are built for ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) applications where elastomers and low-temperature metals are not viable due to extreme bakeout conditions. These valves deliver leak-free metal-to-metal seals from atmospheric pressure to 1x10⁻¹¹ Torr (1.33x10⁻⁹ Pa). To reduce potential leak paths, bonnet gasket seals have been eliminated wherever possible. For those valves that require bonnet gaskets, MDC has designed them for easy replacement—although their port orientation does not allow removal through the valve ports.

Under ambient conditions, these valves support hundreds of leak-free operation cycles. At the maximum bakeout temperature of 450°C (842°F), the poppet gasket life is approximately 50 cycles. MDC's type "V" inline valves maintain port-to-port dimensions compatible with Varian all-metal valves, ensuring easy system replacement or upgrade. The Type "T" designation in the valve type column pertains to valves designed for either tube weld installation or custom flange attachment.
