MDC’s ANSI ASA Smooth Face Flanges are precision-engineered, nonrotatable vacuum flanges designed to mate with standard 150 lb. ASA-ANSI connections. These flanges are available blank or pre-bored to accommodate tube sizes ranging from 1.5" to 12" O.D. (38.1 mm to 304.8 mm). The smooth face design is used in conjunction with a matching O-ring grooved flange to form a high-vacuum seal using a compressed FKM elastomer O-ring. Fabricated from Type 304 stainless steel, each flange features a 32 micro-inch (0.81 µm) surface finish and 45° chamfered edges. These flanges are vacuum-rated to 1x10⁻⁸ Torr (1.33x10⁻⁶ Pa) and can withstand bakeout temperatures up to 200°C (392°F), with continuous operation recommended at 150°C (302°F).
