MDC’s Coaxial Foreline Traps with Replaceable Filters deliver enhanced flexibility and serviceability for vacuum systems. Unlike single-piece units, these two-piece traps feature removable stainless steel screen cartridges that can be filled with your choice of filter media, allowing optimization for specific system needs.

Available media include copper, stainless steel, or bronze wool, as well as activated alumina (for acids and water vapor) and activated carbon (for organics and water vapor). Pump oil coalesces on the filter element and returns to the pump, reducing contamination risk. Filter cartridges are quickly replaced using a banded clamp, minimizing system downtime. MDC recommends keeping spare cartridges for rapid swaps and reusing cleaned elements where appropriate.

Body diameters include: 2" (50.8 mm), 4" (101.6 mm), 6" (152.4 mm), 8" (203.2 mm)

All traps are built from Type 304 stainless steel and include FKM O-ring body seals. Connection types include hose, Del-Seal™ CF (one fixed and one rotatable flange), Kwik-Flange™ ISO KF, and Large-Flange™ ISO LF. Traps can be cleaned with solvent and air-dried, and MDC advises evaluating permanent hose installations carefully.
