MDC’s replaceable filter elements are designed for use with two-piece coaxial foreline traps, offering flexibility and performance across a wide range of vacuum system applications. These stainless steel screen cartridges are available in several media types to target specific contaminants, ensuring optimal system cleanliness and pump protection.

Filter media options include:

Copper wool
Stainless steel wool
Activated alumina (adsorbs acids and water vapor)
Activated carbon (adsorbs organics and water vapor)
Dual-element filters combining materials for broad-spectrum adsorption

Metal wool filters are ideal for trapping pump oil backstreaming, allowing condensed oils to drain back to the vacuum pump. Activated media are recommended for environments with chemical vapors, acids, or humidity. Except for activated carbon and dual-element filters, all elements are reusable, and may be cleaned with solvent and air-dried for future use. Cartridges are available for: 2" (50.8 mm), 4"(101.6 mm), 6"(152.4 mm), 8"(203.2 mm) body diameters

Elements are not included with trap assemblies and must be ordered separately using the appropriate part numbers. MDC recommends keeping spare filter cartridges on hand for quick changeovers and reduced downtime.
