Nitrogen-VCR® Feedthroughs are a specialized variant of Liquid Nitrogen Feedthroughs, designed for cryogenic cooling applications that require maximum reliability. Unlike water feedthroughs, they operate at -200°C, providing greater cooling rates and enhanced thermal performance.

These feedthroughs are engineered to minimize heat transfer between coolant lines and vacuum mounts. To prevent ice build-up, which can compromise sealing integrity, they utilize a double wall coaxial construction. A 0.25 inch (6.35 mm) cooling line is welded to one end of a 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) support tube. The opposite end is welded to the vacuum mount, creating a coaxial vacuum cavity that serves as a thermal barrier, effectively preventing condensation on the air side of the mount.

Liquid Nitrogen Feedthroughs are available in three vacuum mount styles: Del-Seal CF, ISO NW Kwik-Flange, and 1 inch (25.4 mm) Base Plate. ISI also provides individual liquid feedthrough tube kits in weld-tube form for direct welding into chambers or custom flanges.

The VCR® feedthrough variant is built with 0.25 inch (6.35 mm) type 304 stainless steel tubing and features 0.25 inch (6.35 mm) male VCR® metal gasket seal fittings for secure, leak-free connections in vacuum and cryogenic systems.
