MDC offers a complete range of Electrical Breaks for Cryogenic, Liquid, and Vacuum service environments, providing vital electrical isolation in transmission lines across diverse scientific and industrial systems.

Cryogenic Breaks are designed for liquid nitrogen service to temperatures as low as -200°C (-328°F). They feature thin metal transitions for thermal flexibility, but should not exceed 15 PSI (1.03 bar) pressure differential. These breaks are TIG weldable and suitable for moderate thermal ramp rates of 25°C/min (45°F/min).

Liquid Breaks are tailored for the transmission of coolant fluids, with maximum pressure support of 75 PSIG (5.17 bar). Installation is typically performed through soldering or low-temperature brazing, maintaining safe thermal limits under 700°C (1292°F).

Vacuum Breaks are intended for ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) lines, compatible with Laser, Electron-Beam, or TIG welding methods. These components are bakeable to 450°C (842°F) for vacuum conditioning but are not recommended for prolonged high-temp exposure due to potential corrosion.

All MDC Breaks are available with Weldable, Conflat® (CF), and ISO KF Kwik-Flange™ mounts for integration into a wide range of vacuum systems.
