MDC linear motion feedthroughs are designed to deliver precise and reliable linear displacement in high (HV) and ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) environments. These precision instruments are used across a wide range of sample positioning and in-vacuum actuation applications.

The standard linear models feature laser-etched radial and linear scales with 0.001" (0.025 mm) and 1 mm graduations. Each full revolution of the actuator barrel translates into 0.025" (0.635 mm) of travel. The use of edge-welded stainless steel bellows, linear bearing supports, and a 40-pitch lead screw ensures excellent durability and long-term performance.

High-temperature linear motion devices are fully constructed of 304 stainless steel, making them suitable for bakeouts and high-temperature processes. The compact versions provide 1.25 mm of travel per revolution and feature a fine pitch lead screw design, ideal where space is limited.

Push-pull actuators offer rapid movement and easy operation, with 0.025" (0.635 mm) laser-etched graduation marks and a lockable actuator. Rack and pinion designs add greater control, generating 1" (25.4 mm) of linear travel per 1¼ turn. For automated two-position motion, pneumatic models include an adjustable stroke and quick-response actuation. Heavy-duty options are available for moving larger components, supported by reentrant welded bellows construction.
