MDC multi-motion feedthroughs are advanced vacuum-compatible instruments engineered for multi-axis in-vacuum manipulation. Offering combinations of rotary, linear, and wobble motion, these devices provide a versatile solution for operations requiring more than one degree of freedom.

The standard rotary-linear models deliver 360° rotation and 1.0" (25.4 mm) of linear travel, each independently controlled through dedicated drive knobs. Positioning is measured using laser-etched scales: the rotary scale is marked in 5° increments, and the linear scale combines 0.050" (1.27 mm) linear increments with 0.001" (0.025 mm) fine rotary increments. A full rotation of the linear actuator equals 0.025" (0.635 mm) of travel.

Precision rotary-linear instruments enhance performance with ultra-low backlash, 0.1° rotary resolution, and 0.500" (12.7 mm) of micrometer-grade linear motion with 0.001" (0.025 mm) resolution.

MDC also offers wobble stick multi-motion devices, integrating linear travel, angular tilt, full rotation, and mechanical gripping. The most capable version supports:
